Admission Counselor University (ACU)

ACU is an annual event organized by Iowa ACAC that brings together new admission counselor professionals to help train and equip them with the skills necessary to be a successful admissions counselor. The event serves as a platform for networking, professional development, and collaboration among individuals dedicated to guiding students through the college admission process.

Colleges to Counselors (C2C)

 

 

 

We're excited to announce two Colleges 2 Counselors (C2C) events this fall! C2C provides an opportunity for Iowa ACAC member colleges & organizations to share institutional updates with high school counselors.

*  Wednesday, October 23, 2024 - Grand View University, Des Moines, IA (Registration deadline has passed. Contact [email protected] to see if space is available.)
*  Wednesday, October 30, 2024 - St. Ambrose University, Davenport, IA (Deadline 10/23 for school counselors & CCTCs)
  • Post-Secondary Representatives: 
    • You will have 3-5 minutes to present important updates or changes from your organization to high school counselors and CCTCs.
    • Following the presentations, there will be a mini college fair for further discussions and distribution of admissions materials. (No swag.)
    • The registration fee is $75 per event or a discounted rate of $125 total to attend both events.
        Schedule for Post-Secondary Representatives

  •  High School Counselors & CCTCs: 
    • Learn about various post-secondary options in one convenient setting.
    • Optional campus tours will be available at the beginning and end of each event.
    • Receive a booklet containing general admissions information for each participating college, serving as a valuable reference for the academic year.
    • Registration is FREE

School Counselor/CCTC REGISTRATION

The event will include a college fair for networking and to hand out promotional literature. (No swag!)  Lunch is included for school counselors and college admissions professionals.

The R.I.D.E. - Rediscovering Iowa's Diverse Education

This free, three-day bus tour provides a door-to-door, first-hand look at college campuses and what each school offers students. Each year the RIDE's region of travel changes, taking counselors to a variety of colleges in a specific region for tours, hands-on learning, meals and even overnights in residence halls.
